What a source is telling me about Tre'Shaun Harrison...

It's much to early to do a Larry David pic, but that being said...

Seattle, Wash. Garfield HS 2018 ATH Tre'Shaun Harrison visited USC on Friday and after picking up a scholarship offer from USC yesterday, he's emerged has USC's top priority tailback target on the West Coast. We're working to contact Harrison but we spoke to someone who's very close to him and his recruitment.

"He loved USC," the source said.

We expect the Trojans to be a very real player for Harrison until the bitter end. We hope to have more on Harrison soon.

Late notes on the Mater Dei- St John Bosco Game last week…

#1 nationally, MD had one of their best ever teams in terms of depth and talent and easily took #3 nationally St. John Bosco to the woodshed at 49-14. Of interest to any USC fan is the Mater Dei QB J T Daniels and WR Amon Ra St. Brown. Hee are some of my takes on them.

J T Daniels- He stands 6-2 max and 210 pounds and should grow another inch plus 10 pounds or so. He has great accuracy and hits the short, cross-field, and Mid range receivers well. He ended up with 5 TD passes in this game and rhe also ran well at times, a little quicker than Darnold. On longer passes he has a tendency to throw with a lot of air and let the receivers run under it. I don't think that will be the case as he gets to college. Buit another year and this guy would be a great pickup.

Amon-Ra St, Brown has great hands, and runs great routes. He isn't a burner, and is the smallest of the St. Brown brothers. But he is extremely smart, speaking 3 languages and a straight A student and has a great feel for the game. He is listed at 6-1 and 190 but seems a little bit smaller. His interest is reported as USC,Stanford and Notre Dame. His bothers are at the last 2 schools with the Stanford WR redshirting this year. Neither Notre Dame nor Stanford showed off the receiving skill of highlighted receivers and the ND brother Equanimeous (SP?) has only 31 receptions, after 58 last year, as ND went more ground oriented. He had some nice catches especially when St John Bosco had him single covered. He would be a great pickup for USC.

These guys by themslf would make USC recruting shine.

Bryan Ellis Joins USC Staff As Offensive Administrative Assistant

Bryan Ellis, who helped coach Western Kentucky's prolific offenses the past 3 seasons (2014-16) and even called plays during the Hilltoppers' 2016 bowl game, has joined USC in March of 2017 as an offensive administrative assistant.

Ellis, 28, was an offensive quality control coach in his first year at Western Kentucky in 2014, assisting quarterbacks coach (and current USC assistant) Tyson Helton as WKU played in the Bahamas Bowl. Brandon Doughty led the nation in passing yards (4,380) and touchdowns (49) in 2014 while winning the Sammy Baugh Award as the nation's top quarterback. Ellis then was WKU's running backs coach in 2015 (the team played in the Miami Beach Bowl), as Anthony Wales ran for 1,086 yards and D'Andre Ferby made the Conference USA All-Freshman team. In 2016, Ellis was the Hilltoppers' wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator, as Taywan Taylor had 98 catches for 1,730 yards with 17 TDs and Nicholas Norris added 76 receptions for 1,318 yards with 14 TDs (the Hilltoppers threw for 4,715 yards and 42 scores). Due to a coaching change, Ellis served as WKU's offensive coordinator in the 2016 Boca Raton Bowl and helped the Hilltoppers roll up 51 points and 598 total yards in a victory over Memphis. Before that, he was an offensive graduate assistant at Alabama-Birmingham, his alma mater, for 2 seasons (2012-13).

He had an injury-plagued career as a quarterback at Alabama-Birmingham (2007-11), playing for head coach Neil Callaway (currently USC's offensive line coach). After redshirting in 2007 and not seeing action in 2008 due to a shoulder injury, he saw brief action in 1 game as a 2009 sophomore. He then started the final 9 games of his 2010 junior season, completing 231-of-411 passes (56.2%) for 2,940 yards and 25 TDs. That season when he ranked 18th nationally in passing yards (267.3) and made All-Conference USA honorable mention, he threw for 350-plus yards 4 times and had 3-plus TD passes in 6 games. He appeared in only 4 early-season games as a senior in 2011 due to a concussion and then a season-ending wrist injury, throwing for 743 yards and 2 TDs on 67-of-127 passing (52.8%). He finished his UAB career in the school's all-time Top 5 in passing yards (3,697) and TD passes (27).

Ellis earned his bachelor's degree in history for Alabama-Birmingham in 2011. He also began work on a master's degree in public administration at UAB.

He spent his 2006 senior year of high school at Peach County High in Fort Valley (Ga.), where he was the Atlanta Journal Constitution's AAA State Offensive Player of the Year while leading his team to the Class AAA state championship. Before that, he played at Tiftarea Academy in Chula (Ga.).

He was born on Sept. 13, 1988.

OT- Now the Tax Bill Is REALLY in Jeopardy!

This is hysterical! You gotta love these guys.

House Republicans Just Brought The Senate’s Tax Bill To A Grinding Halt

BRIAN TYLER COHEN

PUBLISHED ON DECEMBER 5, 2017
000

Last week, Republicans set the stage for the sole legislative win of Trump’s presidency when the Senate finally passed their version of the tax bill.

Today however, a handful of House Republicans refused to sign off on the Senate bill and voted to send the legislation to conference committee where the two versions of the bill must be reconciled — putting the entire measure at risk.

Conservative Republicans in the House of Representatives are now signaling that they will block several key promises that had been installed in the measure to appease certain Republicans in the Senate.

Senators Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Susan Collins (R-ME) were given assurances by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) that their requested provisions would be included in the final version of the bill.

Collins demanded legislation that would offset the negative effects of repealing Obamacare’s individual mandate. Flake was promised that there would be protections for the children of undocumented immigrants who lost their security when DACA was rescinded by the Trump administration.

Furthermore, in the Senate version, in a mad dash to bring the bill to the floor for a vote, a provision “of the current tax code that sets an alternative minimum tax floor for wealthy individuals” was preserved. The same provision – long despised by conservatives – would be eliminated in the House bill, setting the stage for another confrontation between conservative and moderate Republicans in the two chambers.

House Republicans are clearly not prepared to deliver on any of these items, and have already suggested that they will stall the legislation until their demands are met.

“We still have the same issues. Nothing has changed in the last two months just because we’re fulfilling our promise on delivering on tax reform,” said Rep. Mark Walker (R-NC), the chairman of the conservative Republican Study Committee. “I find it problematic to be promising something that the House has shunned from very early on.”

Tonight’s development is par for the course for a Republican caucus that would rather wheel and deal their way to tax reform without a modicum of unity from their party. With still no legislative victories despite majorities in every branch of government, Republicans are proving themselves unable to govern even in the most favorable of conditions.
