Recruiting notebook: USA Flag 7v7 brings recruits to SoCal

Here's my roundup of USC targets who participated in the USA Flag 7v7 event in Santa Clarita over the weekend. The process is moving quickly with a lot of prospects right now and official visits are already being scheduled. Some recruits decided to stay an extra couple days to visit USC, and I spoke with them about the visits.

I also caught up with a couple recruits who are already locked in with official visits for the spring.

New USC target could soon set official visit

One of the breakout prospects from Sunday's Under Armour Miami event was Floyd Boucard, a Canadian who played in Alabama in 2023. Now he's in Miami at powerhouse Miami Central, and USC jumped in with an offer on Monday. Floyd tells Rivals he is eying a mid-June official visit to L.A., potentially, though it's currently set elsewhere.

USC's all-time two-deep lineup

What have you got? Give it to me! (Oh, and you can keep your list of greatest-ever USC players to yourself. That's been asked before; I don't want that.) I want you to give your list of the greatest ever USC.......COACHES! Give me your 1 and 2 at every coaching position. I'm especially curious about who you have at the defensive line coach position and whether coach Henny already qualifies. For offensive coordinator, would you actually list lincoln riley among the top two even though he's the head coach??

I want you to consider what they have done in their careers in totality rather than just what they have done at USC.

Court fights to prevent Trump from running again for the White House turn to Minnesota

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Supreme Court justices appeared skeptical Thursday that states have the authority to block former President Donald Trump from the ballot, with some suggesting that Congress is best positioned to decide whether his role in the January 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol should prevent him from running.

Justices sharply questioned an attorney representing Minnesota voters who had sued to keep Trump off the state ballot under the rarely used “insurrection” clause of the U.S. Constitution. Citing Congress’ role in certifying presidential electors and its ability to impeach, several justices said it seemed as if questions of eligibility should be settled there.

“And those all seem to suggest there is a fundamental role for Congress to play and not the states because of that,” Chief Justice Natalie E. Hudson said. “It’s that interrelation that I think is troubling, that suggests that this is a national matter for Congress to decide.”

Wow is Penix well-endowed!

Apparently, shrieks were heard from the squeamish scouts at the NFL combine when he unveiled his 10.5-inch instrument. Every single one of them closed their eyes and fantasized about how it would feel to have him deep inside their...uhhh...training facilities. In response, Michael Penix just gave a smug, knowing grin and winked and head-motioned at his tool.

Apparently, he not only has the size but also the motion. Some dudes just know how to please.

TRUMPY GAFFES GETTING WORSE, IN EVERY WAY .....

In a neck and neck race to the bottom, Trumpy seems to be surging ahead of the Sleepy One! His problem is that he just can't keep his pie-hole shut, thus confirming his mental infirmity. On the other hand, someone has convinced Joe to talk less, thus requiring listeners to only GUESS at his state of mental decline. Of course, the visual imagery of the obese, big- jowled Orange man is equally disturbing. This is problematic for Trumpy because he's playing catch up.
