The "Rooney Rule"

The Fritz Pollard alliance is calling on the NFL to investigate whether the Oakland Raiders violated the "Rooney Rule" when they hired Jon Gruden as coach. Essentially, they claim that the Raiders had a deal with Gruden prior to interviewing Tee Martin and Bobby Johnson.

That's the opening line from the article. You can find it on ESPN...if you care to go there.

I've been thinking...that in today's world, someone is going to change the "Rooney Rule" to be more inclusive with "our times".

In addition to including minorities (generally meant to be African-Americans) in the search for a new coach...I suspect they will soon add that the process must also include; women, gays, lesbians, trans-gender, and "other" identifying genders yet to be named or discovered.

The old "slippery slope".

Curious to See Where Clancy Plays Gustin Rector Iosefa and Murphy

Does rector stay inside as more of down lineman or does he take a rush position like predator? He seemed very good as a predator. Does Murphy become a down lineman? Iosefa was really good as a predator too. Would he start there or move to nwosu's position? He needs to start somewhere. He is that good. Does gustin move somewhere?

The Proverbial Double Edged Sword

Without getting into a discussion of the SC football program, I have but one question:" I read all year, from the "haters" that Helton was clueless because he didn't start Darnold from the beginning of the 2016 season.

Okay, but Saban only brought in Tau in the 2nd half of the last game of the season, going with Hurts instead, but no mention of Saban being clueless.

So I'm wondering, is it a matter of agenda?

Who is to blame for the O-line; coach, players,S&C

I'm sure they are all to blame but really, is it our players suck that bad, they don't respond to the coach, are they just too weak. Daniel Jeramiah on the Rich Eisen show pointed out how our 3 interior linemen kept getting blown away. I know we have excuses but we have to face the problems and fix them. So we don't scare anymore QB's away.

So, how and who needs to get involved to fix the O-line problem.

I also see the fact that we are not getting great linemen to commit is an issue that goes to coaching. When should Swann step in?

Adam and Chris

Adam and Chris, A few questions: and if you dont really know the answer just give a quick opinion or guess if possible:
If sam does not come back, who will start at qb nett year?

Do you think sam will come back as his stock has possibly fallen quite a bit?

Besides sam, who do you think will possibly try to go pro regardless of their draft stock? The reason I say this is because I dont think anyone else has a great chance to go in the first or second round. Maybe rojo or green, but I think they are mid round guys. Do you think these guys will come back? R. Green, gustin, toa, rojo, immatorbhebhe, brown, edoga, burnett, rector, tell, biggie?

Who do thin will start at center next yr? toa, cole smith or neilon?

What's up with frank martin, nathan smith and Jalen Mckenzie. I was very high on smith, but I guess he is still injured?

Does Hunter Echols look good? Is he hurt or just redshirting because he is raw and lacks bulk?

Do any other corners look good? Biggie seems to be having some major mental issues. He is a good player and he has some talent. But can Langley step in? Anyone else?
