I am soooooooo happy for this guy. He transferred into USC looking for PT at a time when we looked like a complete grease fire. Little did he know some porn star from Oregon would hit the scene with his big mustache looking for some Californication.
All-a-sudden, Austin was watching said mustached performer get physical and pop off under the bright lights every week, while all that he himself was riding was the pine. He must have felt like one of a million Joneses (and not a Jeremy or a North).
All of a sudden, the star was plucked, and a huge void was created.
"Oh my God! Who could possibly fill his spot? Austin? Does he even have the juice? Can he even find the holes much less fill them?"
I think the answer is best summarized by a quote from my son during tonight's game: "Honestly, I think he's better than Travis Dye."
I think that about says it all in terms of the impact that Austin Jones has had on our season (helping us to finish out this magical season in magical fashion). He's running WAY BETTER than he ever ran at Stanford. Austin is no longer "one of a million Joneses." The new star has arrived--he is Mr. Jones.
