According to Rivals' own Adam Gorney it seems like Notre Dame is warming up to Lamar Jackson in a significant way, and the big athlete is saying the Irish would be a real option for him if they do offer.

Jackson is planning to attend the Rivals Camp to be held in L.A. this coming Sunday. There he will make his case for a rise in the rankings.
In the update, posted just a couple of hours ago, Gorney notes that USC and UCLA are "basically tied" at the top of Jackson's list. It's been said recently that he could be looking to make a decision as soon as this summer.
This theme, ND and Jackson, was touched on his Gorney and Blair Angulo's recruiting notes from B2G, and the smoke appears to be real. In that update they touched on the broader theme on ND recruiting west coasters. The Irish probably did themselves a favor with Javon McKinley when they offered Chacho Ulloa. The last time I talked to Ulloa he, McKinley and their teammates were traveling and they were right next to one another. They're very close friends and both liked South Bend a lot. USC has not offered Ulloa and I'm not sure how realistic it is that they will in the short term.
