Highlighting the top performer for each position group from Week 5:
QB: Sam Darnold – simply put: a playmaker, instinctive, improvisational, finds the open guy
RB: Justin Davis – great vision and footwork, rarely tackled for loss, finishes every run
TE: Daniel Imatorbhebhe – plays position like a wide receiver, stretches the field, high ceiling
WR: JuJu Smith-Schuster – few weaknesses yet still developing, improving
OL: Chad Wheeler – has adjusted well to carrying more weight
DL: Jacob Daniel – learning how to use his body
LB: Osa Masina – looking like he belongs inside
CB: Biggie Marshall – showing more presence in run defense
S: Marvell Tell – breaking up more passes, imposing at times
Honorable mentions: QB Max Browne (trustworthy, poised, hitting his spots, consistent), TB Ronald Jones II (biggest strides have come as a pass-catcher), TE Tyler Petite (deceptive route runner, steady), WR Darreus Rogers (focused, solid work ethic, dependable), DL Christian Rector (Clay Helton said he’s been most consistent D-lineman in spring), LB Wole Betiku (natural pass rusher, had his best week), LB John Houston (making plays despite limited reps, covers a lot of ground), LB Porter Gustin (being more decisive), CB Ajene Harris (sacrificed natural position for betterment of team and provided max effort on D)
Coming soon: Overall standouts from spring practice
