Lincoln Riley makes clear Miller Moss is entrenched as USC's starting QB

This isn't news as it was never in question, but since there is so much discussion on here about Maiava, here ya go:

"Jayden is doing a really good job. I’m very confident if the situation arose that Jayden was going to play that he would play well. But Miller is our starter. Miller has played a lot of really good ball. He’s put our team in position to win a lot of games. He, like anybody, some of the things he needs to do better, he owns it. I promise you, he wants it more than anybody with what he puts into it. He’s our leader. He’s our starter. There’s zero question about that."

NOT GOOD: Yet Another Kamala Failure As Memo Shows 30% of Security Cameras on Southern Border Are Broken

OrphanX (aka Tuco) “A Team”… half ass, mediocrity, incompetence

So there are 30% more illegals that we did not "see" coming across the border.

The fact is, this administration hasn't known who is coming into our country for a LONG time. We have NO IDEA how many unvetted gotaways are in our country- and Border Czar Kamala Harris wants the American people to give her a promotion? No shot.

Bottom Line

After 3 years you know what you have. By now, you should see a dramatic improvement in talent and some depth to the roster. You should see a team trending more towards a top 5 contender rather than a team not ranked. CLR is not an elite coach. He fell into the OU job with tons of talent in a conference where you can run his pansy offense and wow everyone with stats. He parlayed that into the SC job. He can’t recruit elite talent across the board, he has proven to be a poor clock manager and the excuses are getting old. it’s apparent he is in way over his head and is being exposed.

USC/Penn State visitor breakdown

It's one of the biggest games on the schedule this season, and the USC/Penn State matchup will bring plenty of recruits to the Coliseum on Saturday. The Trojans will host a large group of committed prospects for the game but there will be some recruits committed elsewhere and a ton of underclassmen who will also be in the stands to watch the game.

Here's a breakdown of the notable names to know about as they make their way to USC this week.

Commits

The committed list includes a big portion of the 2025 class including DE Gus Cordova (247), WR Romero Ison, WR James Johnson (247), RB Duane Morris, LB Matai Tagoa'i (On3), Kendarius Reddick (247), WR Corey Simms and OL Elijah Vaikona.

In addition to that group will be a few more 2025 commits who have been assessing other options or at least entertaining continued efforts from other programs.

Via Rivals analyst Sam Spigelman: "Shamar Arnoux committed to USC over Auburn and Florida State over the summer. Arnoux was back on the Plains in July for Big Cat Weekend and again last month for another unofficial visit. Miami extended an offer in Arnoux's direction last month and will get the No. 12-ranked CB in the Rivals250 to campus next month for the Florida State game. Arnoux is set to return to USC this weekend -- his second visit back in the past month. His recruitment is not yet shut down, though the arrow continues to point up for the Trojans with one of the top cornerbacks in this cycle."

The longtime USC commit has said all the right things about the Trojans, but other schools have continued to keep in contact with the edge rusher from Oaks Christian. Oregon has been the biggest threat with its work to get him out to Eugene again with the hopes of pulling him away from the Trojans. Even though the trip down to USC is not a far one, it is an important one in the grand scheme as the USC staff works to keep him away from the Ducks.

Via Rivals national director Adam Gorney: "There are some rumors Lewis could visit Colorado next week but this is the USC commit’s second visit to Los Angeles so far this season as he’s shown nothing but interest in the program and staying pledged to the Trojans. The five-star quarterback from Carrollton, Ga., has Indiana and Colorado as the main programs trying to flip him but with coach Lincoln Riley’s QB success over the years, turning him down could be tough."

Other 2025 visitors

The Trojans came into the picture with the three-star defensive back a month ago when they offered. Since then he has continued to see his stock rise with UCF also joining the race with an offer in recent weeks. Miller has been committed to Mississippi State since June, but the Trojans will get an opportunity to pull him out west during his weekend stay in LA.

The rise for Cincinnati commit Benny Patterson has been impressive, and it led to an offer from USC last month. LSU, Florida State and South Florida have also joined in with offer since that time as the one-time NIU commit sees his stock continue to rise. Patterson originally planned to visit USC last month shortly after picking up his offer, but travel issues prevented it. Now, the Trojans will get their chance to impress him in their efforts to get him away from the Bearcats.

Four-star DE Braeden Jones commits to Trojans

USC just got a huge commitment for the 2026 class. Illinois four-star defensive lineman Braeden Jones tells me that he's committed to the Trojans.

"The LA vibe, the campus, the coaches and how appreciative they are of me. I really felt the love going down there," Jones said." "It felt like it was the place for me."

Jones had offers from Michigan, Auburn, Ohio State and many others. Great early win for Lincoln Riley here at a position that is always a need for everybody.

Let’s be honest, what is the USC brand now?

Been thinking about this for a while. I’m not sure how to describe the current state of the USC program.

Defense used to be a bedrock. While it’s better this year than the last couple of years , we are still a long way away from having an intimidating defense. The Mich, Minn, and Penn State games are evidence of that. Outside of Kamari Ramsey, this defense is lacking winners.

Offense. I think we let the hype get to us. We had a Heisman Trophy winner at QB and couldn’t win the Pac12. We think our WR core is talented every year but there are drops and misses all over the place. We supposedly have a QB whisperer and offensive genius as HC but we aren’t seeing that show up on the field.

We reveled in the LSU win to start the season. Now, it’s clear LSU just didn’t play up to par and we got lucky with a win.

Then you look around the county and see programs stacking up CA talent while we try to pull players out of the South (BTW… we don’t have a great batting average in that regard).

We feel like a boat without a rudder. I feel like the formula to beat us is to simply let us beat ourselves. Is there anyone on the current team (coach or player) that is going to step up and lead a change to this “brand?”

BTW… the top talent in the country can see this problem as well. Don’t tell me about the USC education or network or past success. We haven’t won anything meaningful in many years. It’s about NIL and wins. Apparently, we aren’t very good at either.
